[Twiz O'Meter / BigToM] Update to firmware 2.0
Back to you with a new firmware update!
Some news have already been anticipated in BigTom preview topic , others are revealed here.
So.... let's go!

What is new in firmware 2.00
=================================

- unified ToM firmware and BigToM firmware, for unique development
- reorganized all ToM prefs in a structure, so to implement the backup-restore function of the settings, now available in the OTA web page
Please take note that, if you update OTA to this fw version, it's not advisable to boot from another partition with an older fw version due to the new prefs structure. So avoid it, to prevent unpredictable issues.
- time and date can be set manually or automatically and kept updated also when ToM is turned off.
A special "syncronize" flag has been added to adjust the time and date each time an internet connection is established. A difference of +/- one minute has to be considered state of the art, because it's still impossibile to syncronize seconds perfectly.
- trip history will always report the right time and date
- added two more fields in triplog webpage: SOC and ODO. They will show the SOC% and the kilometers existing when the trip is added to the list.
- added a new command in the control charging web page, intended to auto-schedule a full charge (100%) after a customizable number of partial charges. In this way, also if you normally stop the charge before 100%, you'll be sure that the cells will be balanced after the 100% automatic charge.
- ToM and BigTom can be controlled also with one button, to improve a better driving experience. To enable this feature, simply set Pin1 or Pin2 of the expansion port to "CTRL button" and use a N.O. (normally open) button, connected to ground when pressed. Of course you can use the right lever button, connecting to its line. The ctrl button has 3 functions, depending how long you'll press it: normal press (200msec); medium press (600msec); long press (1200msec).
The action of each press type is customizable between: change page, browse items, select/deselect item to start the associated function. In BigToM speedometer page, once selected the item, use "browse item" press to scroll the available items.
In the expansion page, you can also choose which pages to skip while browsing pages with the ctrl button.
- added "Motor fan" as new output type. When selecting it, transitions to off state will occur with an a hysteresis of -10°, only if the reference value is the motor temperature. Otherwise, no hysteresis will be applied.
- when selecting "Aux Charger" as output type, transitions to off state will occur with an a hysteresis of +2%, only if the reference value is the SOC %. Otherwise, no hysteresis will be applied.

Bug fixed:
=================================
- fixed the aged bug which made the AP unreachable without an active wi-fi connection
- restored the possibility to go to the setup page 1 when charging
- fixed the wrong kWh value shown after entering the cheating factor
- fixed the problem concerning the display of the inclination field of triplog webpage. Now it's valorized, not zeroed.

Known bugs:
=================================
- awaiting for your reports! ;)

Special thanks goes to:
=================================
- anyone who can stand my posts in english and requests for help, in primis Snorre who I stressed a lot for testing the new BigToM device and related functions. I don't know how many headache I gave him: just for making working the ctrl button, he had to update more than 11 times his ToM / BigToM... Many of his suggestions/ideas aim this firmware and the new BigToM device.

Updating procedure:
=================================
To install the new fw you have to update both the Blackbox and the display as explained in detail in ToM manual except for these further instructions:
- coming from 1.4 fw (and later), the Blackbox can be updated also via OTA, without flashing
- coming from previuous versions (1.3 or 1.2) you have to update before to 1.4 (or 1.45) fw version, following the specific instructions reported in 1.4 / 1.45 topic, and only then to 1.6 fw.

And please, once again, you have to strictly follow all the mentioned steps!!!

Special warning:
This update is really heavy because of the deep changing of the code to unify ToM and BigToM firmware development.
So, despite the update procedure to Fw 2.0 has been performed and tested on several ToMs, I cannot exclude problems.
In case, just let me know: there is always a way to rescue the ToM, also after a failed update!
I ask experienced ToM users, who have already successfully performed previous updates, to share here the results of their new updates, so that all other ToM users can also update with confidence.

update:
@ SaschaB and other BigToM users:
I forgot to include in the archive the correct fw to update the bigger LCD of the BigToM.
BigToM users must not use the .tft file in the archive of this post, but the firmware I attached in the following post:
BigToM-Benutzer dürfen nicht die .tft-Datei aus dem Archiv dieses Beitrags verwenden, sondern die Firmware, die ich in folgendem Post angehängt habe:

[Twiz O'Meter / BigToM] Update to firmware 2.0
I forgot to mention: the lucky owners of BigToM can use the installed single wire with connector to gain access to the right lever button.
Just plug the connector to the expansion port and set the pin (it should be pin1, if not, try with pin 2) as CTRL button in the expansion page.

[Twiz O'Meter / BigToM] Update to firmware 2.0
Ooh! I'm still running 1.70 I think, on the principle "if it ain't broken don't fix it" but that button to browse through the displays sounds very attractive - so the time may have come to risk an update.

I will wait on a few positieve reports though, because the ToM has become really essential to using my Twizy. Especially the limitation of charging power and stopping at a certain SoC, I use daily. And I'm used to the statistics of my Twizy appearing in my Home Assistant, for which I now realise I still need to write a howto :ohmy:

2020 Twizy 80 with Korea windows. I have a Twiz'O'meter which is connected to my Home Assistant. I have a type 2 adapter and a CEE adapter so I can charge everywhere. I can read and understand German pretty well, but I can't write it ;-) So please feel free to reply in German to my English posts.

I'm very happy the ToM became essential to your Twizy.
I hope to read soon positive reports, despite, till now, it seems there isn't so much interest.

Do you know, and are you prepared to share, how many ToMs there are in the wild?

On a related note, I've been trying to find out or at least estimate how many Twizys are driving around in the Netherlands, but I have not been able to...

Hi Fabio,

I'll update next week. I'm currently (as slow as possible :laugh:) on the way back home from my holidays in Scotland.

You must not say this thing with impunity: we are cooking a 40° in these days! :angry:
Apart from envy, I look forward to your feedback about ToM update.

Today I updated my ToM. Everything worked fine. B)
The LCD I have updated as described in the manual with a SD card.
The ESP I have updated via OTA.

Thank you so much for adding my Feature Request on the trip-page :woohoo:

just to be sure: In the Zip-File is "LCD_Fw20.tft" for the LCD, after update it still remains on 1.8?

I made a quick comparison between LCD_Fw180.tft and LCD_Fw20.tft and they seems to be the same expect of the last four Bytes?

Thanks for the feedback.
I forgot to change the string version, so it still shows 1.8 instead 2.0. :facepalm:
In the .tft file there is a minimal difference, for fixing the second bug listed.
Do the two fields added to triplog work as you expected?

[Twiz O'Meter / BigToM] Update to firmware 2.0
Hi Fabio,

LG Tom

Hi Fabio,

thanks for the update!
Both ToMs are now running the latest version.
On one of them I had the problem that the ToM had forgotten the IP address after the restart. But it's no big deal...just add it and everything is back to normal.

LG Tom

Danke Andreas für den Hinweis mit der Version !

[Twiz O'Meter / BigToM] Update to firmware 2.0
Hi Fabio,

Update:

LG Tom

Hi Fabio,

Update:
Unfortunately, PIN1 is no longer activated. As you know, I switch off my fast charger >82% (+2%). This means that PIN1 must be switched on for anything less than this.
Unfortunately, it is not.
Please check again. I first downgraded to fw1.9withCAP. Now it works again.
