Das hat bestens funktioniert! Ich wäre nie auf die Idee gekommen, dass ich durch langes drücken auf ein Bedienelement dessen Funktion umstellen kann - nice!

Just an anticipation, I'm working on a completly new instruction manual.

Remember that if you want to read the error description, you have to enable this feature entering in the "password 4" field the string GIVE_ME_DF! (exactly like wrote here, also with underscore and !) and press OK.
Then you'll see the description by tapping on the error entry in the error list.

Don't tell me twice...

I've been off the radar for a while, just driving around in my Twizy

Now I'd like to upgrade, but I'm scared. I read that it is extremely important to update the big display first, but I don't understand how to do that. I don't see an option to update the display in the OTA update page, or anywhere else?





I don't want to brick my ToM. I also read that after the display upgrade, the display might not turn on. What do I do then when I can't open the web interface? Sometimes, when the ToM connects to my phone's hotspot, it picks another IP address, and when I can't look it up on the display, I don't know how to update the box.

At the moment you´re still running firmware 2.1.
This is too old to update the display OTA.
Either you use an sd card for updating the touchscreen directly to firmware 2.4, or you have to update first the blackbox to firmware 2.3, then the touchscreen OTA to firmware 2.4 and last the blackbox to firmware 2.4 too.

Don´t be afraid.
It´s nearly impossible to brick the hardware.
I never heard that anyone managed to brick ToM hardware by firmware update.

I went with the 2.3 -> 2.4 route.

The upgrade of the box to 2.3 went fine.

However, I started the 2.4 update of the LCD 12 minutes ago (I've used a stopwatch). I've kept the browser window open, as it instructs, but it's been sitting like this, unchanged, for a long time:





What should I do?

Reboot and restart with the lcd fw update.
Don't take care about the errors messages you'll ready on the screen.
Stay at a place where your wifi connection is good, or use your phone.

Phew! Second attempt worked. Both LCD and box now at 2.4

I come from the era where flashing a PC motherboard's BIOS sometimes went wrong, bricking the board. I still carry the emotional scars from that time

I tried googling these codes, but can't find the meaning of them. Does anyone know if there is a list explaining them?

I had the 1-37 as well from the moment I connected the new ToM+, searched the Interweb for it, first the Forum here, but never really found an answer. After deleting it (I learned to cicle between the info-trip-error-icons) it never reappeared.
And I got fooled by an error caused by the charging-flap being open
