[Twiz O'meter/BigToM/ToM+] Update to firmware 2.4
It took me a while to share this firmware update because make working two displays together wasn't a joke.
Enjoy the new features, with the fresh 3D look!
What is new in firmware 2.4
=================================
- new 3D look for the graphic elements of the main pages, available for every display type (ToM, ToM+, BigToM).
It was an huge work because more than 200 elements has been reowrked, but the resuts is really nice
- native support for an auxiliary display. It's now possible to connect to the black-box display plug (via a special "Y" adapter) another 2,8" display.
The auxiliary display will work independently, with the same functions of the main one. This keeps anyway priority, so if you'll call in the main display the page shown in the auxiliary display, the pages of the two displays will be swapped.
ToM users who upgraded to ToM+ will have in this way the chance to recycle their old displays, but also any other users interested to expand the system by adding another display will be able to.
Additional displays and Y adapters are so available from me.
Also the additional display is updatable OTA
- added a "max charge once" option, which bypasses once the charging control settings (without loosing them) and get a 100% SOC charge, with no current limit.
This option is available both in the display settings (page nr. 2) and in the webUI, charging prefs page.
It is effective for the current charging process, if one is in progress, or for the next charging process, if none is in progress
- added an history of the last 15 charges: with all the relevant charging data (date-time, odo, length, average power, kWh, init SOC, end SOC and note).
The note field gives useful information about the charging process (manual aborted, MQTT aborted, charger overtemp aborted, Stop SOC reached, ToM overheated).
The history is available in the webUI, charging prefs & history page.
If the history is accessed during a charging process, the current charging data will be shown.
The hisotry records can be deleted individually
- partially rewritten the code which manages the ToM wake-up, to prevent occasionaly boot fails and to switch on ToM also in case of systems error.
when ToM wakes up in presence of system errors, the errors list is presented as first page
- added a new tray icon "ERR". This icon will enlight in case of saved or present system errors, as a reminder.
- added a warning popup while turning off the Twizy. This popup will show some relevant information: LIGHT BEAM ON, HANDBRAKE NOT ENGAGED, DTC ERRORS SAVED, CHG STOP % and LVL
The messages can be activated/deactivated individually in the webUI
- added a new wi-fi setting to limit the scan only to listed SSID
- increased the temperature treshold of the internal protection of the black-box. Now, if ToM overheats, a popup will notify the temperature reached before the system shuts down
- improved the reactivity of the tap on the wi-fi icon for forcing a new connection attempt. Now it reacts promptly, but not during the first two minutes after boot, due to the internal timing rules
Bug fixed:
=================================
- some bugs and graphical glitches fixed
Known bugs:
=================================
- awaiting for your reports!
Special thanks goes to:
================================
- Snorre, once again he didn't miss his decisive support in the development of this new fw update.
He specially generated any sort of system errors in his Cargo, just to test the new err detection and warning features and I'm pretty sure he severely stressed his patience in testing charging interruptions for the history, any page combinations of the double displays and much more.
- FRZ77, for the idea of "max charge once" option
- Wolfe, for the idea of the charging history
- PriusTwizy, for the idea of the "Only scan for listed SSID" setting
Updating procedure:
=================================
To install the new fw you must update both the Blackbox and the screen display.
This time, a particular sequence needs to be followed for the update.
First update OTA the display and only then, when the display update is successfuly completed, you can update the black-box.
After the display update, it will stay dark: it's absolutly normal. The display will restart only after updating also the black-box. So, don't worry!
Please remember that, while the firmware file for the black-box is the same for ToM, BigToM and ToM+, the display LCD firmware files are different, so choose inside the .zip archive the firmware file designed for your display device.
That's all... for now!
Some screen-shots in the next post.

[Twiz O'meter/BigToM/ToM+] Update to firmware 2.4
Vielen Dank an Fabio für das neue Update. Es ist großartig das er sein Produkt kontinuierlich weiterentwickelt. Das heutzutage leider nicht selbstverständlich und Fabio macht das einfach
