A friend, whom I thank, enlightened me about the existence of the R4850G rectifiers from Huawey and so I started working on them.
I then created a device with a display that allows you to pair the rectifier with the Twizy and follow its charging process, so that the rectifier can acts as an additional charger.
At the moment it is possible to set:
- Volts and Ah that the rectifier must provide in DC
- Maximum Ah that it must absorb in AC
- Total Ah supplied to the battery by both the rectifier and the original charger
- % SOC at which to stop the intervention of the additional rectifier
- % SOC at which to completly stop the charging process of the Twizy
- maximum temperature and maximum volts of the battery, maximum temperature of the rectifier, at which to stop the intervention of the additional rectifier (as a safety check)
- maximum temperature of the rectifier
The device performs real-time control of the charging process and regulates the DC Ah current provided (and the AC Ah absorbed) in accordance to the values set and stops its intervention (also switching itself off) or the charging process as well.
Unfortunately I have not yet had time to make the modification to the battery for the input of the additional charger, so I have not yet been able to test it in a real environment.
I therefore ask if there is anyone in the forum who already uses the Huawei RG4850G rectifier (but it should also work with other Huawey models) or better yet two, and who wants to help me test the device.
Theoricaly it would be able to control also multiple rectifiers at the same time, but this needs further developping because I own only one rectifier.

That's what I call: Appetite comes with eating

But that's how it works: Innovation comes only with experience and "disapointment" with existent solutions.
I was looking as well for a solution to charge faster my BigBatt, however just with paralleling a "stupid" charger and fixed V / A settings.
However I would be interested to follow and support your project, just need to find a Huawei R4850G.
Here you might find "inspiration", too: CAN-BUS-control-R4875G1-with-ESPHome-and-MQTT Public
In parallel a feasible solution is required for "on the road charging", as two or three Schuko needs to be used with a Type 2 socket.
Cheers

If you want to buy the rectifier, I suggest you to buy also the connection board. I have already the connector to connect directly to that board.
I bought the rectifier (used) on eb@y, from a german seller who sell the rectifier in bundle with the connection board.
But on Ali@xpress, you find also the 75A version (R4875G1), new and at a lower price.

Are you interested?
Do you think to be able to update the fw of the device (running a free flashing tool on a PC and an USB connection) and to take some logs over the serial?
Having more testers would be perfect.

So far I have been using Linux software, a USB-Canbbus adapter and my GPD notebook for the unchanged converter. It works so far, but it was more practical.

Since I still haven't an high current connection to the Twizy battery, I used my PV storage (ex Twizy cells) fot my tests.
So I connected the Huawizy to the PV storage battery and to the Twizy canbus and I started charging the Twizy.
In this way the Huawei rectifier charged the PV storage battery, following the Twizy charging process.
.
.
The test was succesfull!
Huawizy regulated in realtime the charging current of the Huawei rectifier, increasing or decreasing it, so to not exceed the "total charging current" (original charger + Huawei rectifier).
For example, if the Twizy charger reduced the charging current (due to temperature), the current of the Huawei rectifier was increased so to reach the "total charging current". Reverse effect in the opposite case.
In the following pictures, you see that the Huawei rectifier current was regulated to 8 Ah, because the original charger was delivering 32Ah an I set 40Ah as "total charging current".
.
.
The device controls/regulates in real time also other values:
.
.
If the charging is aborted before 100% SOC, the device will turn off the rectifier (at the moment by putting it in standbye mode, but soon switching it off).
When the SOC will reach the set value (max 90%) the device will turn off the rectifier as well.
During charging the device can display this relevant data:
.
.
Tomorrow I'll make another tests, then I'll send the test unit to Selbermacher.

Abort charge / stop at SOC and 220V AC current limit, are fully working.
It's time for a test in a real Twizy envirorment.

Ich bin sehr gespannt auf das Gerät um es in meinem Twizy zu testen.
It all looks really good.
I am very excited about the device to test it in my Twizy.
