Need Advice on Vinyl for My Car!

I have a black 2018 Ford Focus ST, and I’ve been thinking of getting something a little different—maybe a matte finish, or something with a more vibrant color to make it pop. I’ve seen some really cool designs online, like carbon fiber hoods and chrome accents, but I'm not entirely sure where to start. I’m also a little worried about the application process. Is it easy to do it myself, or should I hire a professional?
I’ve been looking around for vinyl suppliers, and I came across a few options, but I’d love to hear your thoughts or experiences with any online shops you’d recommend. I want to find a place that has high-quality vinyl, reasonable prices, and ideally, a good variety of options to choose from. I know that there are some shops that offer vinyl specifically for cars, and others that provide a broader range of materials, but I’m not sure which one would be best for a car wrap. Also, I’m not looking for super cheap vinyl that might start to peel after a few months; I want something that will last and look great for at least a couple of years.
If anyone has done a DIY vinyl wrap on their car, I’d love to hear about your experience too. How difficult is it to handle, and what tools did you use? I was thinking about starting small, like doing the side mirrors or accents first, and then maybe tackling larger areas once I feel more confident.
Another thing I’m curious about is whether you’ve had any issues with the vinyl starting to fade or lose its color over time. I know the sun can be harsh on car paint, but I’m wondering if vinyl is more or less resilient to UV damage. Do I need to treat it in any special way, or will it hold up through different seasons? I don’t want to waste money on something that’s going to look terrible in a year.
