I am currently building a TWIZY solar car. I am planning to install a 200W solar panel and charge a 1Kwh 16V battery. Next, I am thinking of using a boost converter to charge the TWIZY traction battery from 16V to 60V.
Will an error occur if I try to charge a Renault TWIZY using a boost converter with the key on?

- You definitely have to communicate with the Twizy and cut off charging once the BMS tells you to stop (using Battery Charge % and Authorized Regen Power). Maybe Delvecchio can help with his CAN-BUS charger adapter
- The low charging current could be problematic due to Standby losses of the Electronics and Contactors, which I think is 50-100W, and bad resolution of the Current sensor for the Coulomb-Conting, which can result in vast errors in the calculated Battery Charge percentage

Some people here using the "Backdoor" charging way from the SEVCON contacts for aditional chargers, mainly high-curent, quite like the recuperation of the original System, but you have to trigger the main relais in the Battery. No clue if this also works with low-curent charging via 16to-whatever-Voltage.. the User delvecchio is imho _the_ Guy to ask.. 
Btw., the Pic is great! Like "there is always a place for one more Panel!" And the fixing of the Twizy-panel looks awesome! You would cause the death-by-heart attack of every TüV-Engineer in Germany..

Looks good! But to be honest: LOOKS good. 200 Watt peak installed, This will give you under ideal conditions some 180 watt. 16->60 volt will have quite some loses, so probabaly charging with like 140 watt - for 2 hours per day at best, the rest of the time will be much less (sun angle, clouds, im summer to hight temp and such).
So don't expect too much. It may give you some additional 3-5 km per day or so.

I would not recommend to charge a lithium battery with a buck or boost converter.
Some examples to explain the basic functionality:

If a semi-conductor on the main powerrail fails, it may become permanently conductive. This result in a 1:1 connection from input and output. Imagine you connect two potent batteries with a different voltage.
