Stimmt, das war mein Fehler mit dem Draht. War fälschlicherweise von ESG ausgegangen, da ja zu 90% heckscheiben aus ESG beheizt sind. Vorne das VSG macht Sinn...

A picture says more than a thousand words. This is how it looks in my Twizy:



This is after driving maybe 3 minutes or so in tonight's cold weather, so not everything that will be eventually demisted is demisted at this point. A couple of minutes after this photo was taken, the entire middle section was demisted.

To be honest, I don't understand why the areas that are not heated are so large. It would be better if more of the wind shield was heated. But that's a cost thing, no doubt.

I also don't understand, why the region is smaller than the idle position of the windshield wiper is.

Yeah, this is normal. Like I said, it's probably a cost thing. More thin wires in the windshield = more expensive. But it's silly.

But other than the smaller-than-ideal area, it actually works quite well. I don't understand why all cars don't have this!

Beim aktuellen Wetter habe ich so einen breiten Fensterabzieher rechts neben dem Sitz, den ziehe ich einmal innen quer über die Scheibe beim losfahren, denn nur mit der Scheibenheizung alleine geht es bei mir ansonsten gefährliche zwei Minuten bis die Scheibe wirklich frei ist, und die überbreiten unbeheizten Flächen sind damit auch beschlagsfrei:
